RI Approves Offshore Wind Planning Document
The Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council on Tuesday approved the Ocean Special Area Management Plan — known as the Ocean SAMP — marking an important step forward after two years of offshore wind planning, the Providence Journal reported.
The marine planning project, which cost $8 million, will also require approval from the federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The plan recommends the best locations for offshore wind in state.
